Aja Meadows, MA, LMFT

How do I walk the path of therapy with you? My aim is to listen with empathy, curiosity, and authenticity. I am both honest and collaborative, sharing feedback and tools that could help, while holding the belief that you are the ultimate change agent and expert of your life. I believe in the power of experiencing a safe audience and cultivating a self-compassionate inner voice. I can help you there. We all experience challenges, and you deserve space to create a vision and a plan to build lasting changes in your life.

I specialize in helping individuals navigate complex trauma, build resilience, and reclaim their mental health through a de-pathologizing, strengths-based, affirming lens. My approach integrates principles of social justice, mindfulness, narrative therapy, ecopsychology, and interpersonal neurobiology. My work with couples pulls from research-based techniques, like the Gottman method and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.

When I’m not in the therapy room, I’m learning, processing, and seeking joy in life’s simple pleasures. I love curling up with a good book, creating art, experimenting with new recipes, spending time with loved ones, and immersing myself in craft projects. The outdoors are my sanctuary—whether I’m tending my garden, observing birds, or hiking in nature. Just as I integrate these activities to stay connected to my joy, I encourage my clients to rediscover what makes them feel alive, connected, and whole, too.
